work at the library in Spencer, Iowa. With overnight temperatures

drop box, they found a nearly frozen gray kitten inside. It could have
been there all weekend and was almost dead. The vet was still closed,
though, so they put it in a sink full of warm water—and discovered
it was a beautiful orange tabby. By the time library and city officials

the library an oasis in the middle of their struggling farm community and
